He did an amazing job for us. Love him!
I can't say enough bad things about Mr. Klepper and his company. First of all, he is downright rude and arrogant. He was rude on the phone. Then when he came for the estimate, he seemed like he couldn't be bothered. I thought for a second that I might go with him to do the job but then a friend of mine who he did work for let me know that her renovations cracked and peeled very shortly after he finished. His work was sloppy and he lacked attention to detail. Stay away from this company!
Mr. Klepper completely remodeled a kitchen and a bathroom and outfitted four closets for our familys Manhattan,Apts. On all projects he kept exactly to his projected schedule and estimated price and was pleasant throughout. He was in close contact with us and always responded to us quickly. He remained patient and helpful with the difficult building management people and worked well with them. We were very satisfied with all the projects and he returned quickly for minor touch-ups and repairs after the jobs were completed. We look forward to working with Mr. Klepper again. Company Response: The kitchen was $37,893.44.For their mother. The closets were $15,000.00 for the daughter as well as a $27,760.10 for a bathroom remodel. One of the nicest families to work for and look forward to all of their next projects
Complete renovation from ceiling to floor of an apartment within an historic brownstone. Remodeled bathroom and kitchen (virtual gutting), re-did wood floors, installed marble fireplace, painted, added picture mouldings, added new doors, re-did electrical work, installed a few custom wood pieces. Much of the work and product (including ordered products) were "special-order"/custom. Member Comments: Overall, the job was of a very high quality and reflects the toil and taxation (pun intended) of the contractor and owner. Much thought and care was poured into each and every detail of this renovation, from sconce to shutter screw. Project began with a consultation and estimate and took roughly four months to complete, sensible for the scale of work. One early regret was not having ironed out each and every minute detail (fixtures, products, etc.) at the very beginning of the project. This delayed some things and occasionally caused strife between owner and contractor. Perhaps the contractor's biggest asset besides his experience is that he works on one job at a time; he focused completely on my project, unlike most contractors of today. The job progressed relatively smoothly with the few usual snags of such a large scale (of an ironically small space) renovation. All issues were resolved in the end and the result is truly magnificent. A few things that said contractor could have improved upon were flexibility on design/product selection (which in the end, he was, but sometimes discussions prolonged the project) and a better scheduled/stricter payment plan as part of the contract. As previously mentioned, a full agreement on product/design selection from the beginning would have benefited both parties as resolving these issues during the process extended the completion date and often added unforeseen costs. In sum, I would reiterate the words "truly magnificent," though even this phrase cannot begin to describe the glory of the completed space. The contractor's ideas and experience with old brownstones coupled with the owner's creativity created a singular place in Manhattan that is beyond simply a living space...it is an organic environment that resurrects the age upon which its design is based and, right down to each and every carefully chosen doorknob, showcases the owner and contractor's hard work, dedication, inspiration, and most of all: vision.
Total gut out renovation of apt from ground up. Designed and implemented by Kevin A Klepper, with his award winning designs and magazine spreads of past work, and fantastic references. Kitchen Bathroom floors walls electrical & plumbing heating & A/C Kevin Klepper and his men did a spectacular job from the start to the finish. Very High End residential remodeling & Custom Building is Kevin Klepper specialty and it shows. Even with minor issues from building stopping work and not letting them finish on timely basis Kevin managed to handle the situation very well and professional with management and building ...We are looking to build a house in the Catskill Mountains very soon and am very pleased to have Kevin Klepper and his men working for me again. 2004-04-30
Kevin Klepper and his crew renovated my whole apt from ground up with new wiring plumbing floors and walls, new bathroom - completely gutted and redone as well as kitchen. Kevin had wonderful ideas and designs that no other contractors or designers & decorators that had come in to look at the project. His award winning remodeling, and spreads in magazines were exactly what he said they would be. We had looked at many of his projects as well as called his endless list of referrals. His family doing business in New York for over 150 years three generations and Kevin Klepper surely sells itself. He will be building a house for us in Woodstock NY this year and we highly recommend him. 2004-04-30
Kevin Klepper and his designs, pictures and experience had really impressed my wife and me. We had 2 Manhattan apts. renovated and a beach house on "Fire Island" and are now building a cabin in The Catskills using Kevin Klepper and his crew. They are very polite and considerate, and extremely neat and clean, and have not inconvenienced us in any way. As a matter of fact they do everything they say they do and more. We are not easy to work with, and we don't mind paying the High End Price as long as we get what we pay for and with all the projects with Kevin Klepper and his men, that is what we have gotten. 2004-04-30
My mate and I wanted a High End contractor to estimate our project. Which Kevin Klepper did, and we were really appreciative of that. He was on time and very professional. Not cheap but knows his stuff. We are still in the process of making our decision. 2004-04-30
Kevin Klepper from the start when my wife and I met with him, was very clear to explain all the procedures of our very complicated building, and what we could expect. (KITCHEN PORTION) We were looking to totally gut out our kitchen and and move walls back, take down drop ceilings and make higher, close off doorways and add doorways, add in plumbing to accomadate a washer and dryer, replace all the old wiring, and all old plumbing. We also looked at several options for flooring as Kevin had explained would be very complicated since solid concrete floors were uneven...( WE ALSO WANTED CUSTOM CABINETRY) and very high end countortops as well as appliances. (LIVING ROOM, BEDROOM ,DINING ROOM ) We wanted walk in closets added walls taken down and pushed back... New door openings, and added dining room. We wanted Dental crown moldings throughout whole apartment, and the walls were very, very uneven throughout apt. Kevin explained it all properly that in order to have the moldings perfect the walls in apt would have to be gutted out and resheetrocked, or skim coated taking a severa amount of time and putting us clearly out of our budget... Kevin had and showed his recommendation, which was more cost efficient and still gave us the look that we wanted in Magazines. We fauxed the entire apartment and clearly looks fabulous... Fantastic job by Kevin A Klepper and his men.
Kevin Klepper came over spent an extraordinary amount of time with me and my boyfriend to try and help us with a very tight budget that we were working with. With many phone calls and a lot of approvals from bldg and the extent of what we were looking for, we really appreciated his time and efforts, unfortunately my father's contractor owed him and as a favor to us let him do the work. But we are very pleased with Kevin Klepper and his patience and time he put into it and was still a perfect gentleman about not being hired... We would definitely use him in future projects and Building a house in The Catskills. 2004-04-30
My future wife and I hired Kevin Klepper and his men to totally gut out and remodel Garden apt on Upper Westside of Manhattan. We were totally pleased with the service and workmanship of Kevin Klepper and his men. They were always on time and extremely neat. Though a bit pricey, we got exactly what we wanted in 'HIGH END" remodeling. We bought property in The Catskills and are having Kevin A Klepper and his men build us a custom home, of HIGH END construction. His family-owned tradition of 150 years doing business in New York Sate surely shows. 2004-04-30
Kevin Klepper and his men built a small cabin for my wife and I as a getaway from NYC. His plans and thoroughness, along with great references was what impressed us. His and his men's work ethics were superb and they did everything he said without cutting corners. We would surely recommend Kevin Klepper and his men to anyone. 2004-05-01
Kevin Klepper and his men put an entire apartment in the basement of my partner and I. Concrete floors had to be jack hammered to put plumbing in, to accommodate a bathroom and kitchen that was never existent. The price that was given in estimate is exactly what we ended up paying Kevin A Klepper, with no extra cost or hidden cost's. Kevin Klepper was always very clear to explain that if we changed anything with original plan, what the extra costs would incur. We were very pleased with Kevin Klepper and his crew, that we will use them on our home in The Hamptons, as well as building a house in The Catskill Mountains. 2004-05-01
My first experience ever hiring a contractor was great with Kevin Klepper. He gave me several options as to remodeling my bathroom in old pre war building off Park Ave. The buildings' rules and standards were extremely high according to management & Kevin Klepper. But Kevin had lot's of options to offer to come to a compromise in giving my finance and I close to what we wanted for the budget we were trying to stay within. We were also in the process of moving in with this bathroom was being gutted out, and Kevin Klepper and his men made absolutely sure it was cleaned and organized well enough for us to use while it went on. Kevin Klepper and his explanations of things were always very clear, and would always make sure we understood what was going on. We have had tons of friends and family who have had horrable experiences with contractors, and we are so happy to have found the best. Fantastic job to Kevin Klepper and his men.
After Kevin Klepper and his men did my Manhattan Apt. I hired them to find me buildable lottage in the Catskill region to start my house plans. I am very satisfied with Kevin Klepper and his pricing and politeness.
The initial job we put out for bid was just for installation of kitchen countertop and cabinets. As other, more unreliable contractors fell through, the scope of the job expanded to include removal of an old kitchen unit (range, fridge, sink, and countertop), installation of new range, sink, and D/W, and some help with other projects going on at the time (stripping hardwood floor, installing new locks, etc.). Also, we stressed that, while we wanted the end results to look nice, we are renters and so were concerned with keeping costs quite low and getting the job done quickly, since we would be moving in very soon and wanted the kitchen work to be done. Our experience was excellent. We posted the job on another site; Kevin contacted us and was very friendly on the phone and was always very responsive. He came and quoted $650, explained what sort of work would cost additional money if needed, and was clear and direct about what he could and couldn't do. We anticipated a 1-day job (to about 6pm or so)-timing was important; we were moving in the next morning. That day, he showed up right on time (8 or 9am?) and worked efficiently. We ended up needing his help with more than we had thought (see above) and Kevin really came through. He even drove me out to Home Depot in his nifty van when it turned out I had neglected to buy something needed for the job, just to make sure we'd be able to move in happily and on time. Work went past midnight (b/c of the extra work) & we ended up paying $850--a very, very fair price given all of Kevin's additional time and effort. The end product looked great, esp. given our time and cost constraints. This was a modest project and Kevin was excellent; I will definitely be keeping him in mind for when I own a place and am willing to invest in more work and higher end finishes. Thanks Kevin!
Kevin met me for an appointment to give me an estimate on a Park Ave Penthouse I was in the process of purchasing. After our meeting and estimate decided not to purchase the apt. Kevin was great with explaining things I never knew, and the complications and cost of what I was looking to do with this apt. I will certainly use Kevin when I find another penthouse I am interested in his professionalism was the best of all the contractors I interviewed.
My husband and I had called Kevin Klepper 8 other contractors to get get estimates for dividing a NYC Living Room and building out a wall and knocking down wall between L/R to expand daughters room, and build out a closet and still keep it spacious..... We researched Kevin Klepper and found he was listed all over the internet, as well as with Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs ,no bankruptcies, no complaints ever filed....And with being reviewed and listed with the most positive reviews on WWW.Anglieslist.com,WWW.Contractor.com as well as many other sites......Kevin A Klepper had blogs posted all over the internet as well........ We decided to closely look at him since we had an extremely difficult situation with a LandMark building and an extremely difficult Managment Company...... We had hired an architect to draw up plans, and the management company and co-op board didn't approve, Kevin came in and tried to ease the situation and explain matters, he hired him on the spot at that point because he had some options. The management and co-op board boards idea of what should have taken place with designs and permits and all the red tape would have cost us $33,653.22 for a wall taken down, new wall put up 3 feet away, and building a closet, moving 2 radiators and sprinklers, and doorway........ Kevins idea was to elevate architects drawings, and permits and all the red tape by simply building a temporary wall on other side of living room wall, leaving original wall with french doors, and making that little area 3x2 by 10 high space for shelves, storage, and 2 desks for my daughter and husband to have computer desks on each side..... He built the temporary wall with huge french doors and windows above so it allowed sunlight in living room, and double layered sheetrock 5/8 thick to allow soundproofing for my daughters room. The closet went from wall to wall and ceiling high 10 ft with double doors sliding and mirrored so it looked more open in an 7x10 space, shelves and double poles and space for dance shoes etc........My daughter loves the mirrors because she is a ballet dancer..... Kevin A Klepper charged us $15,978.33 as opposed to the $33,653.22 the co-op board and management company would have had us spending.... And Kevin and his men worked in 800 sq ft apt while we are living in it, and was always safety conscious and cleaned up well everyday. We are very grateful to Kevin Klepper for finding a loop hole in building that allowed us what we wanted and saved us a ton of money..........
We had Kevin Klepper and his crew totally renovate our whole apt 3 years ago, and had called on him several times in the past 3 years for additons that we wanted to add like closet poles, hooks, repainting apt, fixing winodows, fixing doors, things that had nothing to do with original renovation. Kevin was always prompt in calling back, always on time and always stated and explained things carefully as we have never found in a contractors in past years. We are not here in NYC much, and Kevin has keys to our apt and checks on it for us all the time. We have had to call him for windows that got broke and various things in the 3 years we have grown to know him, and are very pleased with our experience with him and his men. (MOST CONTRACTORS ARE NOT EVEN PROPERLY LICENSED AND INSURED) (AND CERTAINLY ARE NOT TRUSTWORTHY AS WE HAD FOUND IN THE PAST) Thanks to Contractor.com and to Kevin Klepper WWW.NYCContractors.com
Kevin Klepper had really impressed my husband and I with his wealth of knowledge and fantasitc references. He came highly recommended His puctual appointment and phone conversations and getting back to us right away after every message, ceratinly impressed us. We wanted a two story addition put on as well a total remodeling of entire first floor of house. Kitchen/DiningRoom/Bathrooms/Mudroom/Porch We wanted all high end materials and workmanship and everything was always explained properly from Kevin. Friends and family all warned us about contractors and builders and the nightmares they have had, we were lucky that a friend had used Kevin and referred him to us. Thank you Contractor.com for rating Kevin Klepper. "He is the Best"
After finding Mr Klepper on WWW.Contractor.com & WWW.Angieslist.com and seeing his wonderful reviews and his long standing in community we hired Kevin Klepper to remodel or apt in Manhattan........He was the most educated and well rounded and pleasant ,of the 8 contractors we met with, explaining everything in great detail about the whole complicated process of building requirements, management requirements, & NYC building dept requirements with Architects drawings required, building permits needing to be filed, meeting with co-op board and Superintendent to follow building rules.... We completely trusted Mr Klepper's opinion on decorating, since his many years of experience dealing with NYC apts. he made many suggestions we didn't agree on at first, but after also consulting Mr Kleppers clients, they all raved at how wonderful he was and how satisfied they were with all his suggestions. Mr Klepper" WASN'T INEXPENSIVE" but certainly well worth the sense of relief and not worrying that he wouldn't do what we wanted or that he would take off with our money........We have had so many friends and family have the contractor take off in middle of the job and not finish......."YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" "TOTAL GUTOUT VERY HIGH END RENOVATION 1,400 SQ FT APT (1.3 MILLION)
We met Kevin Klepper at a home show at County Center in Westchester County 4 years ago, where he had a wonderful display and lot's of literature and staff on hand to explain the remodeling process. His clientele base surrounding the WESTCHESTER COUNTY area certainly impressed us and pictures and tapes of on going projects. We had just purchased the "RITZ CRACKER FARMHOUSE" and were very concerned about the age and what we were looking to do with it. Keeping it's originality was a big concern, but upgrading the entire first floor with updating kitchen, bathrooms, dining room, living room, porch. We were very happy with all aspects of remodeling process. Kevin was always very attentive to our concerns. Kevin Klepper was certainly not the least expensive of the contractors we interviewed, but his cliental and great references as well as his knowledge certainly made us feel comfortable. "We know lot's of people who hired unlicensed, uninsured, unskilled contractors and paid a price for it" We thank Kevin Klepper & Contractor.com for rating him and putting his testimonials up........."WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE"
Kevin A Klepper sat with me for hours deciding on a particular design that could be implemented in my Co-Op apt for a Kitchen & Bathroom renovation.......After we completed the design process, Kevin was able to downsize the project to keep me at a budget with other alternative products that would give the look and feel of a "HIGH END" job, without taking away from the quality....Kevin clearly explained the extreme costs of permits to be filed with NYC that the building required as well as inspections that would be scheduled and take place that he was always in total control of at all times as well as implementing the deliveries always in a timely scheduled manner..........Kevin Kleppers men were always very professional and Kevin was always there everyday and would answer concerns and questions as well as spending his personnel time and weekends helping me to understand the process as well as calling me several times a day and evening..........I have refered Kevin Klepper to family members and friends.......I always felt safe and secure with Kevin Klepper and his men......."GREAT JOB"
Description of Work: Complete remodel of bathroom - replacement of bathtub, sink, toilet, wall and floor tiles, new light fixture and outlet, new towel rods, sheet rock and painting. Member Comments: Kevin started on time and ended on time, even with a few bumps in the road (the electrical wiring was very old. He had trouble accessing the build because "Law & Order" was being filmed). I was on vacation and only had a couple of conversations with Kevin while the work was being done. Kevin worked very hard to do everything the way I wanted. I liked the fact that I didn't have to go and pick out all the fixtures. We discussed what I wanted (he also e-mailed photos), and I got what I wanted. Kevin recommended keeping the old tub and refinishing it (new tubs are smaller). I preferred a new tub. I'm happy with my decision. The tile work is beautiful. Great attention was paid to details.
Description Of Work: Kevin removed the old kitchen cabinets and installed new kitchen cabinets. This involved removed and disposing of the old cabinets, patching any holes in the wall, repainting the wall, and installing new cabinets. Kevin was also kind enough to hook up the sink after the counter was installed (separate contractor). Member Comments: Kevin was very responsive when I called him to come estimate the project. All of the work was kept very orderly and contained to the kitchen. At the end of each day, the work area was left neat. Kevin was also very good at following up on any small issues that arose after the work was complete. All in all, I was pleased with Kevin and the work. How much did the final cost compare to the original estimate? right on How does the value of the work compare to the price? I got exactly what I paid for How far in advance did you schedule the work? more than 2 weeks Did you find the company through Angie's List? yes If yes, which source(s)? website Why did you choose this contractor? location Have you used this company before? this is the first time I've used this company
Kevin and his crew performed a near gut renovation on our two bedroom, one bathroom Upper West Side apartment. The work included the skim coating of all the walls, the installation of all new picture moldings, door and window moldings, new bath fixtures and floors, kitchen flooring, appliances as well as additional electric throughout the apartment. Member Comments:After a very stressful search for a reputable contractor, I found Kevin Klepper of A-1 Home Improver. I called him on a Saturday morning and asked when we could meet to discuss a renovation project that called for a very tight schedule. One hour later we were at the job site. During the renovation, Kevin arrived early everyday and worked along side his crew personally overseeing all the work. This was a huge relief because we provided him with a long list of items we wanted taken care of and I was concerned that things would be missed. When problems arose he was excellent at giving us options that would keep us on time and within budget. He showed incredible patience with a difficult co-op board and building staff and was still able to finish on time. Everyone who has seen the work comments on how lucky we were to find a contractor that did such a professional job. We would definitely hire him again and suggest others do the same. Thanks Kevin!
Mr Klepper had been reffered to us by another Doctor friend that he had done work for in "THE HAMPTONS".After reading his reviews at WWW.Contractor.com & WWW.AngiesList.com and hearing about him being filmed for a HGTV HOME REMODELING SHOW in Conneticut, as well as his being rated by CNN NEWS as #1 GENERAL CONTRACTOR,TOP RATED BY GOOGLE and several other contractor refferal sites,we needed to talk to him as an expert in the feild. We had purchased this house 17 years ago,and always had a bug problem in family room bathroom where we spend alot of time and one of our kids has a bedroom off that area, and were getting nervous because the bug population had over powered the familyroom area, and the only releif we would get was during some of the winter months and had to clean millions of bugs that would die... Over the course of 17 years we spent tens of thousands of dollars on so called experts and exterminators Plumbers, engineers, water experts and so fourth ,taking pictures of inside pipes and everything from A-Z to determine where they were coming from and nobody could ever figure it out and evaluate the situation correctly.... So when we called Mr. Klepper and he showed up with his old uncle who asked many questions nobody ever did and spent alot of time evaluating like I would as a Doctor to determine the problem and fix and correct it........... Of course Mr Klepper determined that the tub area beneath had been open and raw dirt was exposed, and the house had been built on a swamp and the tub, sink,& toilet all had leaks draining into the hole under tub causing the swamp to ferment and bugs to keep growing....... A total gut out renovation was necessary as well as all new plumbing and insulation sheetrock and totally redone with tiles and upgrades........The $56,329.43 spent was well worth it after all we spent that over the years with so called experts............Thank you CONTRACTOR.COM & ANGIESLIST.COM for letting us rate Mr.Klepper
Rated # 1 by CNN News-Google is what my coworker told me about Kevin A Klepper who was filmed at his apartment renovation in Whitestone NY. 'CNN News' rated Kevin Klepper after contacting his clients and seeing his jobs around the 5 boroughs of NYC. Kevin was certainly the most professional of all the contractors we had interviewed" and certainly not the least expensive'...."very courteous and explained everything in detail never leaving a stone uncovered. 'Since my mother had a very serious recent accident and was wheelchair bound, I needed to be assured that someone would be responsible enough to look out for my mothers needs carefully while working in apt. 'The whole apt needed to be renovated while she stayed living there. Kevin and his men first had to clean out the many years of accumulation of stuff that was piled up all over over 40 years, and get rid of it...organize closets and get rid of all the furniture, carpeting, boxes bags...('this is a huge 2 bedroom') the place was skimmed coated with plaster, and painted.....totally renovated bathroom & kitchen from top to bottom. Kevin had picked everything in the place from carpeting to paint to tiles etc..'and we were all very satisfied with his decor' ....Kevin even stayed after job was completed and paid to assure my mothers furniture was delivered and not damaged and laid it all out.......'we highly recommend Kevin Klepper.
We had hired Kevin to do a inexpensive floor in a studio apt for our daughters first apartment. We supplied the flooring as well as masonite that we wanted the tiles layed on, Kevin was very quick to explain that wasn't the best and most professional way of doing it, but since we had already bought it all and lanldord wasn't paying we just wanted it layed. Kevin was fast and very good and even took time to readjust for all the sloping in floor. "WONDERFUL JOB"
Subject appeared on time to appointment and performed thorough inspection and measurements prior to submission of bid. Unfortunately I did not purchase the property. I was impressed with services.
My apartment was in need of serious renovations. The whole apartment was renovated which included two bedrooms, living room, two bathrooms, kitchen, and dining room. Electric plumbing was also done. Mr. Klepper and his men were very professional. If I ever had a question Mr. Klepper would get back to me within a short while either via phone or email. He and his men were always on time. In the past I've had problems with things in the apartment being broken during a renovation, but he and his staff took great care not to cause any damages.

Total gut out renovation of Park Ave Penthouse. From the ground up Kitchen Bathroom floors walls electrical & plumbing heating & A/C Kevin Klepper and his men did a spectacular job from the start to the finish. Very High End residential remodeling & Custom Building is Kevin Klepper specialty and it shows. Even with minor issues not pertaining to Kevin's work that was performed, after the apt was done and had water leaks coming in, I called Kevin who had immediately responded and came over to evaluate the situation that was the buildings fault and responsibility. I am looking to build a house in the Catskill Mountains very soon and am very pleased to have Kevin Klepper and his men working for me again. 2004-04-30
Kevin Klepper and his men did a complete renovation of my beach house on Fire Island, from the kitchen to new floors, bathroom, deck, roof, landscaping. We never had to worry, whatever he said it was done and he was always there on job site. Kevin Klepper was a bit pricey, but certainly worth it. We were extremely happy with all aspects and would certainly recommend him to friends and family as well as rate him on Contractor.com... "GOOD JOB"
Kevin is a pleasure. He's punctual, budget conscience and a joy to have in one's home. He gave me an honest assessment of the work I required and went above and beyond our agreement. I would use him again. He also sent an equally agreeable assistant to help with our project.
My 1938 bathroom was in a sad state. I called Kevin Klepper, A1 Home Improver, and explained the condition of the bathroom and the budget amount. He arrived on a Saturday morning (very punctual) and spent almost two hours assessing and discussing the major work that needed to be done: remove the existing walls, ceiling, bath hardware (faucets, spigots), plumbing fixtures (sink and toilet), medicine cabinet; install additional wall framing, sheetrock, hardware, plumbing fixtures, light, cabinets; tile walls and floor; paint, re-glaze the tub and re-finish the built in hamper. Kevin and I spoke many times during the day throughout the renovation process: general progress updates; discussions on next steps or how to handle something that we did not anticipate. We were able to work through the surprises (flooring, stand pipe). He did not rush the job; rather, the team took the time to get the work done as well as they could, given the constraints of the existing structure (brownstone 5th floor walk-up) and the budget. Additionally, they were mindful of the co-op by scheduling disruptive work during business hours and cleaning up/removing the construction debris. Every time I step into my beautiful bathroom I can hardly believe it's mine. I love it and am very satisfied with the finished results! I would work with Kevin again on another renovation project!
Kevin is very personable. He has the patience of a saint. I wanted to customize all of my closets, floors and lighting fixtures--all big jobs, I have limited closet space, with a lot of bags, shoes and clunky boxes, not to mention clothing. The lighting that came with the place was pretty old. The floors were a combination of tile and long parke wood and carpeting. Kevin made sure he knew EXACTLY what I wanted and I knew EXACTLY what to expect from him. There were no surprises. His work was impecable, his ethic should be a model for everyone, and his price was just right. I would recommend him to anyone who asked (and who didn't:).
I needed my entire kitchen and bathrooms upgraded. After knocking down the wall to the mudroom and extending my kitchen, Mr. Klepper installed a new island and assisted me in choosing marble countertops for a great price. He helped me to reduce the cost, unlike many other remodelers and also installed a beautiful bay window overlooking my butterfly bush. Breakfast has never been so wonderful! Mr. Klepper, also installed Pergo flooring in the hallway leading to the kitchen area and installed crown molding along all the walls in the kitchen. He also replaced all of my lighting fixtures and added recessed lighting. In the bathroom, he installed a second sink and retiled the floor and shower walls, as well as added more lighting over each sink. Mr. Klepper was extremely professional, thorough and reasonably priced. He achieved everything, that I asked of him in a timely manner and helped with design suggestions. I was also pleased with how clean and tidy the work space was at the end of each work day. I am continually pleased, when I walk into my new rooms and I recommend Mr Klepper, for any of your home remodeling needs.
Total gut/renovation; kitchen and 2 baths. Marble floors, granite countertops, some wood flooring. Upgraded all electrical and plumbing throughout entire house. Wallpapering and painting also. Changed front entrance and installed new door and new windows throughout. Built new deck in back of house, and installed pavers in front and side driveways. All new door hardware installed on all doors and new kitchen and bath cabinetry. A jacuzzi in master bathroom along with steam shower. They also applied crown molding in all rooms. A central air system, new furnace, and hot water heater were installed. They added on a large family room to the house with a stone fireplace. The appliances in the kitchen are Viking. Member comments: I can't say enough about the owner, Kevin Klepper. He was prompt every day, always making sure the necessary laborers were at my residence when required. He was always polite and professional. All phases of this project were supervised by Mr. Klepper and in many cases he was heading up the work. He runs a very hands-on operation, making sure at the end of each work day that all areas are clean and ready for work to begin the next day. I must say that my experience was a very pleasant one and I would highly recommend him to anyone that would like their home truly improved. The best part of all was that his pricing was very fair
Kevin Klepper and his construction staff designed and remodeled our 5 room apartment in great detail. Mr. Klepper was very thorough in explaining the required permits for NYC Buildings. The condo board. He spent a great deal of time meeting with the condo board, superintendent and building management to secure the approvals and paperwork for our renovation. My husband, Dr. Singh and I insisted on the highest end renovation with very specific details. Kevin discussed downsizing some aspects of the project, including materials of which Dr. Singh was reluctant. Kevin assured us that this downsizing, would not minimize the quality workmanship we would receive. We totally gutted out and remodeled the kitchen and both bathrooms, installed new floors, installed crown moldings throughout the entire apartment, redid all the electric, plumbing and added a central air conditioning system. Kevin and crew also redid walls, plastered and painted entire apartment, as well as interior decorating. Member Comments: Kevin Klepper and his crew were EXTREMELY professional, neat and clean. They cleaned the work area on a daily basis, enabling us to see the ongoing progress, when we arrived home in the evening. Even our neighbors commented on how quiet and respectful Kevin and his men were. We have recommended Kevin to many of our friends and neighbors, who have been also pleased with the outcome of their projects
I had the whole apartment renovated including the kitchen, dining room, bathroom, foyer, living room, and 2 bedrooms. Skim coating walls, priming painting, crown moldings, new hardwood floors, complete gut out renovation of bathroom and kitchen, upgraded electrical and plumbing, complete decoration and design. Member Comments: Kevin Klepper was an incredibly profession and articulate in explaining the whole renovation process. I was fairly new to the world of home renovations but had a good idea of what I wanted. Mr. Klepper was able to take my ideas and transform them into a complete and precise plan. Because I wanted extremely high end product lines, I ended up realizing very quickly that I couldn't have these products and still stay in my budget. However, Mr. Klepper was able to help me find unbelievable alternatives that looked the same as those "high end" products but very affordable and still give me the "look" that I was hoping for. Mr. Klepper and his crew always cleaned up on a daily basis and although I wasn't living there during construction, it was easy for me to walk around my apartment without stepping over a complete mess. He was also on the job site everyday. Overall, it was a pleasure working with him, I am very satisfied with my results and I would highly recommend him.
After being referred to Kevin by a friend in the city and being told I would be taken care of courteously and efficiently, I was quickly blown off by this contractor. He said he was unwilling to provide me with an estimate because he'd be wasting his time due to the insurance. Thanks for nothing.
Kevin and his men totally renovated our 200 year old farmhouse about 6 years ago, after he was referred to us from a coworker. His politeness knowledge had really impressed us since we had nightmare experiences with contractors in the past. His references were fantastic and workmanship was beyond excellent as well his promptness and concerns. We have used his services many times for smaller jobs since the major work and Kevin has always called us right away and showed up everytime when he said he would. Thank You Contractor.com & Kevin A Klepper for giving us trust again in contractors.
Kevin Klepper was fantastic with his explanation of the remodeling process of Bathroom Kitchen electrical and plumbing that I need done in apt. He was very clear and layed it all out how complicated the procedure with building permits and licensing and architects plans and dealing with the C0-Op board and all the requirements. Unfortunately I cannot afford this type of project right now since just purchasing the apt. I do look forward to hiring Kevin and his men in future when ready.

Description of Work: I was moving into an apartment that basically needed a face-lift, some cosmetic work to make it more appealing. The closets were in bad shape and the walls were painted an awful matte white. The lighting fixtures were rather unsightly and I needed some work in the kitchen and bathroom to make them more up-to-date as well. The main issue however, was that I was on a fairly tight budget and could only afford $10,000 of work in my 1,000 square foot apartment. I wanted to strip the doors (there were 9 in total) of the umpteen layers of paint to reveal their natural wood. Although Kevin does not strip doors in his business, he would help me take them off the hinges and relocate them as necessary. The doors are extremely heavy and very tall so this was no small feat. Member Comments: Immediately I wanted to work with Kevin. He was extremely honest about what I could do on my budget and what I could live without for the time being. Kevin was very accommodating and professional, plus we became friends in the process. He won't try and swindle you, and he is very direct, which comes in handy when you are dealing with knick-picky and intrusive co-op board members. The work was fabulous. I was thrilled with the outcome and Kevin and his men went above and beyond what was required in order to help me. They painted the entire apartment a bright white which improved the look of the walls immeasurably. The installed beautiful ceiling fans and moldings which were dusted with gold paint. Gorgeous! They skim coated the walls and used an affordable technique to make the moldings look more uniform; all the while keeping me in my budget. The closets looked great when finished and
