I own a Co-op in New York City and decided to renovate the bathroom in May of 2005. I was looking for a full service company to manage the project from beginning to end and decided to give My Home a call. I also had 2 other independent contractor's provide me with quotes so that I could compare pricing, etc. The reason I chose My Home was due to their full service approach to the project. I liked the fact that I could work with a designer on the look of the bathroom, choose my materials, have a project manager assigned to manage the process and have a 2 year guarantee on the overall project - all with one company. My Home also secured all of the necessary paperwork with my Co-op board which was very helpful to me. I will say that I did have some problems with the contractor assigned to my project. If I had to do it over again, I would ask My Home to assign someone else. That said, had I worked with this particular contractor without My Home, I'm sure that I would not have had the same outcome. Yes there were bumps in the road but I've heard horror stories from friends who have used independent contractors who didn't have a company like My Home behind them. My Home made sure all of my issues/concerns were taken care of - no questions asked. The project was not completed until I said it was completed. I also had a couple of minor things that needed to be taken care of after the completion of the project and My Home was very quick to complete these things for me in a very timely manner. Doing anything in New York City is challenging - I'm grateful that there is a company like My Home out there to make things a little easier for us hard working New Yorkers! I am very happy with the final outcome and plan on using My Home for my kitchen renovation in 2007. I was most impressed with Vince my Sales/Design rep - I gave him my budget and he kept me on target. I think we actually came in a bit under budget which made me very happy. I was also very pleased/impressed with Sagi my Project Manager who managed my contractors - which was a task in itself - and made sure all of my concerns were addressed promptly. His ultimate goal and focus was to making sure that I was completely satisfied with the end result. I have to say that his goal was accomplished.
I would never have imagined that any renovation project (let alone one in Manhattan) could have been completed so seamlessly, efficiently, and with such great attention to detail. I am truly impressed and extremely grateful for the quality service and workmanship I received. The entire process went very smoothly, from start to finish; which was a pleasant surprise especially after hearing countless horror stories from friends who have used other firms/contractors. Ben Pitt, the designer, was so efficient, and was able to send me an initial proposal, detailed plans and subsequent revisions, always within 24 hours of each meeting with me. He was also very responsive to any follow up emails and questions I sent him. Tina Pashos, the project manager, was a true pleasure to deal with. She also was incredibly responsive, accommodating, and always on top of any questions or concerns I had. Every question I brought to her attention was resolved to my complete satisfaction within a few hours! I was really impressed by the fact that I was always able to either reach her directly or I received a returned call within a few hours (now that is the utmost in customer service!). She also provided me with weekly status updates, which was a great reassurance to me that the project was being monitored and tracked (which was very important to me since I was not physically living at the location while the renovations were underway). And finally, Dennis, the general contractor from Perama, and his crew were fantastic. He was able to offer creative solutions to items that could not be completed exactly to plan. He and his crew were always very courteous and accommodating to me whenever I visited the apartment to check on the progress. The project was even completed ahead of schedule - unheard of! I will definitely be recommending MyHome to all my friends who are in need of quality, professional and on-time renovations!
My husband and I just finished two bathrooms with MyHome this past month. We had had a very bad experience wit hthe contractors we had used in the past and were anxious about the process in general when we decided to go with MyHome. Though things took a bit longer than expected, we are very happy with the work done by MyHome. Particularly, we were pleased with our working relationship with Sagi Shefer. He was responsive, calm and a pleasure to work with. We would recommend Sagi to anyone who asked.
This letter is long overdue, since you did the work in my apartment on Central Park South awhile ago, but it is nonetheless well deserved. Let me start by thanking you for all the work you did in our apartment to literally transform it into a sanctuary for me. The designs you created for us were superb. You somehow overcame the challenge my building created by limiting the bathroom fixtures we were allowed to install, by coming up with products that created the spa-like effect we desired. You also made my need for a Kosher kitchen seamless, so the design is functional yet elegant. Additionally, you understood how important it was for me to incorporate my antiques with the closets, desk and bookshelves you built-in; and the result was perfect. You made sure all the fine details were taken care of. In addition to the design, I want to commend you on the workmanship on the project. I expected high quality and Myl-lome not only met those expectations, you exceeded them. The workers were punctual, respectful and cleaned up after themselves. You kept within the budget you quoted me, and Ben and I appreciated that. I love my apartment and entertain in it frequently. My guests are always impressed with the quality of MyFlome's work. As you know, I recommend MyHome to my neighbors, friends, work colleagues and frankly anyone else that is looking to remodel their home. You guys did great work for me and I am pleased to refer you to others. Thank you again for everything.
COMPLETE KITCHEN RENOVATION....IMPECABLE SERVICE. ALL PHONE CALLS WERE RETURNED WITHIN HALF HOUR AFTER PLACING THEM. THE JOB CAME IN ON BUDGET AND WAS STARTED AND FINISHED ACCORDING TO THE SCHEDULE. THE STAFF WAS RESPECTABLE AT ALL TIMES AND ALWAYS PROMPT. I ALWAYS FELT IN GOOD HANDS AND FELT THAT THEY LISTENED TO MY NEEDS. ONE STAFF MEMEBER EVEN RETURNED MY PHONE CALL FROM HER VACATION AT THE RED SEA SOUTH OF ISRAEL BY CELL PHONE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AND WILL USE THEM AGAIN IF A PROJECT ARRISES.
Best contractor in the city. They do it all from design to supply to the actual installation. Hey its contracting their will be problems but all in all great work. The craftmenship is amazing and the personal touch from owner to tradesmen made me feel at ease. Great company Great products I love my new apartment.
Dear Mayan: Back in August 2003, my husband and I first approached MyHome about remodeling our kitchen. The job was completed almost two years ago, and we couldn't be happier with the end result. I was working from home during that time, so I saw a lot of the MyHome crew, and found every workman to be courteous, conscientious, and professional. Whenever we told friends or acquaintances how pleased we were with our contractor, they would invariably express surprise-so many New Yorkers have had unhappy experiences. All the people who worked on our apartment arrived on schedule, completed the work to our satisfaction (or, if there were any problems, redid it), and kept the building in good condition. Once our kitchen was done, we went on to have MyHome oversee refinishing the hardwood floors and painting the walls. Even before our apartment was finished, our upstairs neighbors signed on with MyHome for more extensive remodeling. The completed project was stunning. Over the past few years I have been happy to recommend MyHome to a number of prospective customers. We ourselves hope to become customers again soon-this time to remodel our second bathroom. I only wish more contractors in New York would aspire to your company's level of service and professionalism. Your success is much deserved.
We would like to thank you for all of your help and participation in making our shoot so successful. We appreciate all of your assistance and look forward to working with you again in the future. I will contact you to let you know when the new episodes are slated to air.
I just wanted to send a note to thank you for your help with my kitchen. I know that between my changing jobs and you trying to get ready for knee surgery the project slipped quietly into Johnathan's (capable) hands, but I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated your input, solutions and general level-headedness - it certainly could not have happened without you particularly not with such a lovely outcome! I can't tell you how many compliments I get - you really did an outstanding job. I hope the knee lets you up and around soon
MYHOME DOES EXCELLENT WORK AT A LOWER PRICE THAN MOST - THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OUTSTANDING AND THEIR ENERGY IS TERRIFIC
To: MAYAN METZLER MyHome LL For many years I've dreamt of renovating my 1963 boring all white bathroom. Many times I began the process, but for numerous reasons, I was not satisfied with the chosen contractors and their services. So, with great frustration I repeatedly abandoned my dream. After receiving a postcard from MyHome, I decided to pursue it one final time. Late May, I walked in to your beautiful new showroom on W. 48th Street and was promptly greeted by Design Consultant Inna Smertenko. My renovation anxieties seem to instantly disappear. I realized that I had located, after almost a decade, what I had been searching for, a full-service knowledgeable company. Your two brochures answered all my questions, so I promptly arranged for the free in-home consultation. From the very beginning, Inna listened to me. We met on a few occasions discussing my likes and dislikes and together we spent many hours choosing each product and best of all, staying within my budget. Her suggestion of adding an additional strip of blue tiles to the walls was ingenious. It looks fantastic! Inna's enthusiasm and professionalism are the key reasons why my bathroom remodeling has been a painless project. She is constantly aware of every aspect, e-mailing and calling to check on the progress. Whenever I have a question, it is always answered within the hour. At present, my stunning bathroom is almost complete. We are just awaiting delivery of the Duravit wall-mounted sink and then all the finishing touches will be made. Working daily with Project Manager Jesse Rabinowitz has also been perfect. Additional praise goes to Andrew Rooney, who gathered all the endless, required papers for my building management + co-op board, foreman Andrew and the very talented jack-of-all-trades Thomas. Everyone at MyHome has truly made this bathroom renovation a dream come true. Many thanks for a job well done. You have a wonderful company.
We worked with My Home's Westchester location and it was nothing short of a disaster. They designed our kitchen and we ordered custom cabinets through them. The good part: the cabinets are of superb quality. The bad part: every single step in the process. They made a number of design mistakes (e.g., designing cabinets to be 96" high when our floor to ceiling measurement is only 95". After 5 "firm" delivery dates against which we reshuffled schedules with our contractor each time, they delivered the cabinets 5 weeks late. In addition, the cabinets arrived in fragments over 4 days instead of one day as we were told they would. Each day we were told that all of the rest were arriving the next day. Four weeks after cabinet delivery, we are still missing all of the internal pieces (cutlery inserts, etc.) which are supposedly arriving next week. Then we discovered that they had placed our window incorrectly on the floor plan so 3 cabinets needed to be redone. This cost us 2 more weeks of time. The branch manager wouldn't even admit the mistake they made in measuring and instead asked if we had moved the window. No, you are incapable people and measured wrong. In addition, they quoted us prices on items and then came back and said, "Oops, we made a mistake and forgot to add XXX so it will cost you more." Also, they do not follow-up on questions or open items in a timely manner. I had to follow-up with multiple emails and voicemails to get answers on even simple questions. On top of this, they have the audacity to blame you for their mistakes, "you signed off on cabinets that were 96" high, as if I am responsible for measuring my own space -- isn't that a designer's job? I was even told that I was responsible for the 5 week delay in the cabinet delivery because I had many so many changes. I had made ONE, and this coincided with the change in the cabinet height when we discovered the cabinets were higher than the space they were supposed to reside within so it did not cost any extra time. Finally, they are unprofessional in their interpersonal skills, often resorting to yelling at the client, even the branch manager who should be able to quell client situations. From a design perspective, they completely misrepresent what they do, saying that they can source materials from anywhere and be a one stop shop. For my floor tile, they showed me two manufacturers in their showroom and when I did not like anything, they told me the names of other tile showrooms that I could go to. What kind of design service is that? They are disorganized, incapable and misrepresent their capabilities. Stay away. What a headache and a stress.
I want you to know that I am really enjoying my new "Tuscan" kitchen. It looks just like I had imagined. The design gave me more space and the quality of the workmanship is excellent. A real advantage was using the computer software to design the hopscotch back splash to meet my requirements. Thanks to everyone I worked with.
Dear Mayan: I would like to take this opportunity to thank your company for the great project you delivered. The design became alive with the quality and workmanship. We quite happy with the quality of the job and your attending to matters even after the project was completed in appreciated. We have had such a positive experience that if you would like to quote from this letter in your ads, brochures, direct mail packages, and other promotions, please feel free to do so. Sincerely, Eric W.
